Welcome to the Blog! It’s been a long time coming. The main focus of this blog will be for information and resources rather than my own photography. I will try to share as much as I can. I’m not claiming I know what I’m doing, but if you like what I do, then you may take away something from this blog.
In the past I have always listed strobist info. Now via this blog I will try to supply more detailed lighting information with the occasional setup shot.
Caitlin Randolph: Last Saturday I was able to be at location with several other flickr photographers. Later in the day I was able to connect with the Dynamic Duo aka the Randolph sisters. Most of you are probalby already familiar with photographer Lauren Randolph. What you may not know is she has a talented sister…Caitlin. Caitlin was gracious enough to allow me to use her as a model. They came complete with her own cool wardrobe! This shot has quickly become one of my favorite portraits I have taken.
The lighting setup is a 2 light setup. The light behind Caitlin was more for her hair rather than background seperation (It was below pointed up to her hair). In between was another tripod which we balanced a coke can with incense. Unfortunatly we were unable to get a whole lot of smoke. It is there, just very subtle. I hope you enjoy my lighting diagram. I’m sure those will get tweaked as I do more posts.
